Word of the Week - Going Up - Last week was all about picking up the pace. With the now redeveloped vision of the project, it was much easier to decide the directions I'll be working on. At the same time, I'm getting better at communicating with clients and potential clients.
It was pretty eventful in a way where there wasn't a project in my roster that I haven't worked on; from Band Project to client work, to personal.
My main focus was transferring the updated vision of the project into the communications, starting with the website. At the same time, I'm keeping in touch with everyone who is in on the project and talking to every one of them in order to practice how I present the project and how my communication works. What I'm happy with is that on the other hand I still get to pitch my project to new people, again and again, thus practicing my delivery and I get to understand what's the easiest way for people to pick up on what I'm about.
The biggest challenge at the moment is optimizing my time usage between all at hand. I have some client orders I need to regularly turn in, I have the commitment to TEDxLjubljana as part of my exit duty, reaching out to potential clients for the cash flow, and other upkeep matters like anyone working on their own business.
Lessons:
- Even with a clear idea of what needs optimization, it's not immediately obvious how to go about optimization.
- ... at the same time, it's not always 100% clear what needs optimization. Some things could be way out of sight. But worrying about that isn't going to save the day.
- Two things that are never enough: Focus (time) and money, and everything in this world is designed to take those from you. I might want to improve these, too.
