Report of the Week: Feb. 15. - Feb. 20.
Word of the Week: To Grow In - In the end, nothing is detached from anything else.
This past week was quite eventful indeed. It started with a meeting/jam session with the guy I've mentioned in the previous report. It's obvious he's excited about the music and art in general. On the area of music creation for the band he has the potential to be a great addition, especially when the process will involve the creation of entire band. I more-or less wrapped up the Rocketcoil website, but I'm continuously updating it. I'm happy to say that I've also gotten two more orders for design/animation. All in all, things are going well right now.
For the project I was focusing on the experience. I keep re-playing the way people will interact with the project, in order to make it truly easily accessible, easy to work with, easy to experience it, and of course how to inspire end users. In many ways, it will start with the software.
People won't just start using the software because it's there. It needs to be inviting. It needs to attract people, and then to call them back. It has to give back more than what they asked (or paid) for. I need to design it - and experiences with it - in ways that will inspire people.
Lessons:
- I will want to have my project to be even easier to describe. The guy I was talking about it with kept drifting from the current direction; either because I didn't describe it well enough, or...
- ... or I absolutely have to figure out how to be more enrolling for the project. Maybe I did describe it well enough, but he'd keep drifting into the areas he found attractive for his way of doing things.
- Even if someone is super excited about the project, or wants to be part of it, inviting them to join in this phase isn't a good idea. They need to be at the point in life they're ready to take their own lead and be effective for the good of all.
