Word of the Week: Ebb and Flow - Let's take a look at the progression of the WotW so far: Prioritisation, Efficiency, Moderation, Ebb and Flow. High velocity, high impact start, regaining control and stepping back to check on what's going on. The entire Nature has a rhythm to it, for a reason.

This past week was quite a journey. I have had several phone/zoom calls over the week, each of them exceeding expectations. The implication of the burnout that I've mentioned before was indeed more present than initially expected. It affected my 'sitting time' to an extent over the last week, but I focused on what I could focus on. I decided to do a little bit of market research on Reddit for the band project and got valuable feedback.

Besides that, I've talked to Robi about the next steps on developing a (basic) prototype/demo, to Darry about motion capture/transfer to 3D Characters, Artjom about burnout and Bati about art/music/digital/procedurals; and super fulfilling calls that aren't related to the project with Ivan and Alja. Most of the lessons I'm going to write are from those calls.

I'm happy that over this week, I've managed to get some new ideas on how to proceed with the project and to put things into perspective. The second week of February is going to be productive.

Lessons:

- Energy managment is super important. It's easy to fall into the 'people expect more of me' mindset; but that's not true. Meeting expectations is very energy demanding and most of it is due to the pressure we put on ourselves.
- Slowing the pace is beneficial for the project to filter out what's working well and what isn't. Some of the things can often times be simplified, if you take just enough time to reevaluate everything what's been developed so far, thus saving precious time in the future, or just optimizing it.
- Without proper presentation, people won't know exactly what you are about. Explanations should be used as support for the presentation, not the other way around. I've had people ask me very basic questions as if I'm just starting on it (to some extent I am), because they didn't know how much of it has already been thought through.
- Confidence in communication isn't communicated through wording, or the way you speak, or anything that can be described differently than 'being'. I've learned that while I'm confident internally, it often times isn't transferred to the other party, thus giving impression I'm not confident. That's something I'm keen to explore further in the following weeks and months.
